MORPHOMETRIC STUDY OF SUPRASCAPULAR NOTCH IN INDIAN DRY SCAPULAE

Morphometry of suprascapular notch is essential to understand , treat different causes of Scapular Nerve entrapment and to obtain a safe zone which would be useful to avoid iatrogenic nerve lesion during open arthroscopic surgeries and help in designing implants for the shoulder joint among Indians .All the components of the suprascapular notch and scapula have clinical relevance for which the knowledge of the normal anatomy is essential. Hence, the present study was undertaken to provide information about various Dimensions of suprascapular notch and scapula .The study presented the normal osteometric values and variations of suprascapular notch and scapula which are important for medical practitioners to understand scapular nerve entrapment And to obtain safe zone.
