This book has universal appeal and therefore what is seen as panacea to solve the problems of press-government relations in Nigeria, can indeed be applied globally. The justification for this position is that press-government relations is a global phenomenon which is an ongoing issue of discourse in the international community. This book chronicles the relationship between the Press and Government in Nigeria from 1960 – 2019 by using research approaches to uncover the inherent intricacies that belie the relations over a period of fifty-nine years interestingly, to do this the book has benefited from the immense experience of the author as a researcher in press-government relations in his years of schooling at the Universities of Jos and Ibadan, and his present place of teaching at the Benson Idahosa University. To effectively provide readers with insight into the relationship, he used framing analysis, content analysis and focus group discussion of participants to unearth relevant information. The book also provides clear thoughts on some of the impediments to the relationship and points a way out of adverse relationship between both parties.
