There are many misgivings about the way of life of the people. There are traditions that contradict the reality of human right which had been practiced. But time has come to examine these traditions. They undervalue and undermine the essence of the freedom to participate or interact. Although such traditions were meant to control what to the people at the time was virtue, modern civilization contradicts such practices as we shall see in the following chapters. Nevertheless there are universal values which by nature uphold healthy living and harmonious existence with one another, and such values can be found in Igbo culture.
