Hunger is a common occurrence among a large cross-section of the human population. This book suggests that the occurrence of hunger impinges on a population’s socio-cultural fabric, resulting to new ethos and values in an unfolding cultural process. Using the case of Abanyole of Western Kenya and through a comparative methodological approach, the book illustrates how behavioural adaptations among one set of the Abanyole is seen to reflect and associated with sustained cases of food deprivations. The unique use of socio-cultural variables relative to hunger as analytical tools is bound to interest scholars and readers in the social science areas.
