Industry demands reliable and accessible reference data on the physical and chemical properties of a wide variety of compounds. These data are required in the development of process design and efficiency and in the evaluation of possible environmental impacts. Basic reference data are also critical to the transportation and storage of fluids and for the calibration of instruments and processes. In modern industry the products and processes are designed and optimized by process simulators. These rely on fundamental physical and chemical property data. In the dissertation emphasis has been placed on the determination of parameters ie.,density, viscosity, refractive index and speed of sound which are industrially important. Linear and non linear Ultrasound techniques have been applied on the liquid mixtures. Various thermodynamical and non linear parameters have been evaluated based on which inter and intra molecular interactions and complex formation have been analysed. Several Ultrasonic theoretical models have been tested for various liquid mixtures. Their applicability to chemical industries have been evaluated.
