Well balanced, nutritious feed coupled with adequacy are the major limiting factors in realizing increased livestock production. Cultivation of sorghum over other fodder crops is widely practiced because of its high tolerance and suitability to wide variations in soil and climatic conditions.A more balanced nutritive feed can be obtained by mixing sorghum and cowpea. The work reported that the higher level of total green and dry fodder yield and crude protein yield and favorable quality parameters viz., crude protein content, ADF, NDF, EE, IVDMD, TDDM, plant silica, calcium and mineral matter content and antinutritional factors viz., HCN and nitrate content were noticed with the variety Harasona as a base crop and ratoon crops. In the case of cowpea intercropping observed enhanced total crude protein yield. In general, application of 60 kg N ha-1 after each cut produced significantly increased the yields. The publication is well documented with respect to yield and quality of multi cut sorghum along with legumes and use full for researcher and manager involved in forage crops.
