In Canada and USA, scientists proved that the Cement Kiln Flue Dust (CKFD) can be used as a substitute for KCl and K2SO4 in production of potato, barley, oats and alfalfa also can be used as alternate lime source in agricultural lands. In India, potassium is being imported every year. That too for banana require more potassium and replaces 1500kg of potassium for one hectare of land. To utilize the Industrial waste to substitute the commercial potassic fertilizer MOP by K rich Cement Kiln Flue Dust (CKFD). Hence, the present study was carried out at two sites one at Dalmiya Cement Factory Dairy Farm, Dalmiyapuram, Trichy District with 2 cultivars viz., Karpooravalli and Poovan and another one as a confirmatory trial at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, India.
