The Lived Experience of Female Labor Union Leaders

This study animates the real-world experiences of women in leadership positions. New insights are revealed regarding female leadership styles that have never been studied before. Fascinating dimensions of leadership emerge from women’s descriptions of how they fulfill their responsibilities by working as labor union leaders. Many of their accounts poignantly disclose aspects of what it means to be a female leader in the service of everyday workers.
