In many developing countries, a large part of the population, especially in rural areas, depend mainly on traditional medicines for their primary health care. The indigenous knowledge of medicinal plants has been well documented in ancient Hindu literature. In India, the indigenous system of medicine namely Ayurvedic, Siddha and Unani have been in existence for several centuries. Ethno-Botanical Study of Panchmahals District, Gujarat India was carried out with view to take inventory of selected Medicinal plants, used by tribal people. A total 121 plant species were described. The studies indicate that indigenous people have developed various ways and methods for utilization of their plant resources.
