Regimenting Americanism

At the dawn of the new millennium, a time filled with tensions, heated disputes and bloody wars, nations of the world have become much more preoccupied with empowering their military foundations and seeking new alliances, thereby ignoring other equally essential social, economic and cultural issues, among others. In the middle of such tensions and war mongering attempts, the United States of America, as usual, has to remind the world of its role as “the super power”, and re-instigate the world’s anxiety by its usual trespassing of international laws or its military interventions in many places under the purported noble mission of securing the whole world against terrorists, war mongers or drug and arm traffickers. The American unilateral strategies in the world have not only brought into light the American hostility, but the world’s opposition and an era of turbulence in which wars are being planned behind closed doors, and initiated through technological, medical and academic institutions. Therefore, this book is bent on analyzing Obama's inaugural speech to the Muslim World in Cairo in light of the American policies and attempts to come into good terms with the Muslim/Arab world
