The current study investigates the impact of sustainable practices on employee motivation and commitment, specifically among Generation Z employees in the European Union. The literature review highlights the potential positive effects of sustainability on employee job satisfaction, loyalty, and engagement in sustainable practices. The study employs an explanatory sequential mixed methods approach, with quantitative data collected first and qualitative data collected second to explain the quantitative results. The quantitative phase involves primary data collection from Generation Z employees in the EU to test the relationship between the sustainable practices of an organization and employee motivation and commitment. The qualitative phase involves structured online interviews with experts in the field to interpret the quantitative results further. The study's findings indicate that sustainability is not the only factor influencing Generation Z employees' motivation and commitment at work. Other factors such as salary, personal development, work-life balance, respect, and responsibility are also important.
