An increasing number of individuals are pursuing orthodontic treatment as a consequence of the growing desire to retain a smile that is aesthetically pleasant. As a result, numerous issues have arisen because of the brackets' adhering to the tooth's enamel. One such commonly encountered and prevalent issue is the formation of White spot lesions, that can affect a tooth's appearance as well as its functionality by increasing its susceptibility to caries. Plaque accumulation on the surface of the bracket can be managed chemically, mechanically, or by altering appliance parts like brackets and wires. Mouthwashes and other chemical methods change the mechanical characteristics of orthodontic appliance parts. Conversely, patient compliance is necessary for mechanical techniques like brushing. Consequently, more advanced techniques to lessen plaque deposition have been investigated, such as applying nanoparticle coating to the wires, brackets, or other components. Therefore, this book discusses the most recent method of altering or coating bracelets with nanoparticles to address this problem.
