Electrodeposition of Ni-P-Cr Alloy Coatings and Brazability of Deposit

In this book, a novel brazing method by integrating the green and efficient Ni–P/Ni–Cr–P electrodeposition with the brazing technology was proposed to settle the mutual restriction of brazing quality and efficiency for stainless steel with thin–walled structures caused by the difficulty in coating and controlling the dosage of the filler metals. New Ni–P/Ni–Cr–P alloy plating baths were developed, and the formation and crystal structure of the electrodeposited alloy layers were investigated. In addition, the electrochemical reduction mechanism of Ni–Cr–P alloys was studied by means of linear sweep voltammetry and cyclic voltammetry. Brazing tests were conducted to verify the brazability of the electrodeposited Ni–P/Ni–Cr–P layers.
